What should an unmarried 27-year-old woman with a strong sexual urge do after a female doctor refused to perform a clitoridectomy on her, claiming it is forbidden?

The doctor erred in prohibiting female circumcision on the pretext of its unlawfulness. It is, in fact, legislated as a recommended act, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There are five acts of fitra (innate disposition)," and he mentioned circumcision among them. Evidence of its existence during the time of the Prophet is his saying: "When he sits between her four limbs… and the circumcised part touches the circumcised part, then ghusl (ritual bath) becomes obligatory." We advise that it be performed by a Muslim female doctor without exaggeration, provided it does not lead to harm.

To curb desire, we advise you to fast, avoid solitude and bad company, and diligently observe acts of worship and attend circles of knowledge. Also, avoid everything that incites desire, such as forbidden sights and websites, and mixing with men. Ask Allah for chastity and a righteous husband during times when prayers are answered, and you may inform trustworthy individuals of your desire to marry.
