What is the ruling on a life insurance policy purchased for the purpose of assisting the wife and children after the father's death, knowing that the father does not have any social insurance?

Life insurance is impermissible because it entails relying on other than Allah to manage the affairs of provision and livelihood for one's offspring after death. A Muslim must have good expectations of Allah and know that Allah will take care of his family and children after him, according to his righteousness, as Allah Almighty says: ﴿Indeed, those who say, "Our Lord is Allah," and then remain upright — the angels will descend upon them, [saying], "Do not fear and do not grieve, but receive good tidings of the Paradise which you were promised."﴾ [Fussilat: 30].
