What is the ruling on leaving the house to play with friends without the father's approval?

Originally, an adult of sound judgment does not require his father's permission to leave the house, unless the father forbids him from going out to play with his friends, in which case obedience becomes obligatory. The father usually does not forbid his son except for a beneficial reason, and obedience to both parents is obligatory unless it involves disobedience (to Allah) or harm to the child, as mentioned by Ibn Taymiyyah.
