What is the explanation of the hadith: "There will always remain a group from my Ummah victorious," which speaks about the people of Jerusalem?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The noble Prophetic Hadith states: "There will continuously be a group from my Ummah standing firm upon Allah's command. Those who forsake them or oppose them will not harm them, until Allah's command comes while they are in that state."

It is mentioned in the explanation of the Hadith that the group standing firm upon Allah's command refers to the faction stationed at the frontiers of Sham. His statement, "will not harm them," does not mean that no harm whatsoever will befall them. Rather, the intent is that the harm will not be total, and that the ultimate outcome of piety and victory will be theirs in the end, even if some harm afflicts them, as happened to the Muslims on the Day of Uhud.
