One must make up for the Ramadan (definition) fasts from the age of puberty (15 years or the appearance of other signs of puberty). The expiation is given to the poor, and it is permissible to give it to one poor person or more. However, the Hanafis do not consider the fidya (ransom/expiation) obligatory.
