Is it permissible to dye the hands with black dye designated for gray hair?

Dyeing (Ikhtidhab) can be done with henna, katam, wars, saffron, and black dye. Henna or katam is preferred. It is disliked or forbidden to dye grey hair black for reasons other than war. It is recommended for a married woman to dye her hands and feet with henna or similar substances for adornment. It is disliked for an unmarried woman to do so, out of fear of temptation (fitna). There is no harm in dyeing the hands black for adornment for spouses, as long as it does not involve imitation of disbelieving women or immoral women, or serve as a symbol of a false religion. Dyeing, after its substance has been removed, does not affect ablution (wudu').
