What is the ruling on buying a key to open a gifted electronic box, and what is the ruling on selling this box, and what is the ruling on buying the box itself?

It is not permissible to describe the distribution of boxes containing unknown items as a gift (hiba), because it is a prelude to selling the key, without which the box cannot be utilized. In reality, it is a sale of both the box and the key. This sale is forbidden because it involves gharar (excessive uncertainty), and the sold item is unknown. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade sales involving gharar, due to the animosity and hatred it can cause.
