What is the ruling on a father giving land as a gift to his friend, despite his children's need for the land?

A man is permitted to dispose of his wealth as he wishes during his health and sound judgment. Thus, he may gift a piece of land to his friend, even if his children are in greater need of it. The father's religious obligation is to provide for his needy child who does not possess sufficient wealth for his basic needs. Nevertheless, giving the land to his children or keeping it for them is better and brings greater reward, unless there is a pressing need that necessitates preferring others. It is narrated in the Hadith (definition): "It is better for you to leave your heirs wealthy than to leave them poor, begging from people." This indicates an encouragement to maintain kinship ties and show kindness to relatives.
