Is it permissible for a female slave to marry a free man, and for a free woman to marry a male slave or a servant?
It is impermissible for a free man to marry a slave woman unless two conditions are met: first, the inability to marry a free Muslim woman; and second, the fear of falling into sin.
If he is able to marry a chaste, honorable woman from the People of the Book, it is not permissible for him to marry a slave woman.
The Law has been strict in this matter due to the consequences of enslaving the child, for the child follows the mother in freedom or slavery.
As for a free woman, a slave is not her equal, because of the degradation that results from such a union.
A slave is someone who is bought and sold, and they are rare in this time, and they are not the same as a servant.
