Is answering "yes" to a mother's question, "Will he enter Hell and you enter Paradise?" out of anger, along with feeling remorse and seeking forgiveness, considered presuming upon Allah, and what should be done to ensure forgiveness?

The statement made was grave. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) narrated that a man once said, "By Allah, Allah will not forgive so-and-so." Allah Almighty responded, "Who is it that presumes to swear by Me that I will not forgive so-and-so? I have indeed forgiven so-and-so, and I have nullified your deeds." However, as long as you have repented to Allah Almighty with sincerity and remorse for the sin, then Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful, who accepts repentance and pardons evil deeds, as He Almighty said: "And it is He who accepts repentance from His servants and pardons evil deeds." (Quran 42:25). And the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The one who repents from a sin is like one who has no sin." Therefore, have a good opinion of your Lord, strive in acts of obedience, and increase the good deeds that erase sins.
