Is it permissible for a woman to uncover her sick father's 'awrah in order to care for and clean him, and when washing him after death, especially if she is his only child and he has no brothers? And what is incumbent upon her regarding the days her father broke his fast due to illness and did not make them up or pay their fidyah before his death?

Filial piety is obligatory, and it includes fulfilling the needs of one's parents and assisting them in their acts of worship. However, if it leads to committing a forbidden act, one must desist from it. Looking at the 'awrah (private parts) of another person, whether alive or dead, is forbidden, and the thigh of a man is part of the 'awrah. What the sister who asked the question did by looking at the 'awrah of her deceased father is unlawful, and she must repent if she did it intentionally without necessity. However, if she did it out of necessity to clean him and purify him, and she could not cover him, then there is no blame upon her. Nevertheless, what was obligatory upon her was not to look or touch the 'awrah directly with her hand except to the extent of necessity. As for making up fasts on behalf of the deceased, that has other rulings.
