How can one acquire the reverence for the command, the reverence for the Commander, and the belief in the recompense, which are mentioned in Ibn Al-Qayyim's saying: "The gravity of the transgression stems from three things: reverence for the command, reverence for the Commander, and belief in the recompense"?

Abu Ismail al-Harawi stated that the realities of repentance are three: magnifying the offense, suspecting one's repentance, and seeking excuses for creation. Ibn al-Qayyim explained "magnifying the offense" as being based on three foundations: magnifying the command, magnifying the Commander, and believing in the recompense. Magnifying the command means realizing that the prohibition of disobedience emanates from Allah and that its danger is immense. Magnifying the Commander means feeling the greatness, omnipotence, and generosity of Allah, which instills shyness before Him and prevents disobeying Him. As for believing in the recompense, it means being certain of the worldly and otherworldly punishments resulting from disobedience, such as hellfire, deprivation of divine proximity, and constriction in sustenance and life, which drives the servant to repent and prevents him from falling into sins.
