Are there signs for the acceptance of repentance? What are the signs of Allah's wrath upon a servant? What are the ways to avert His wrath if it has occurred? How is the verse "O you who have believed, upon you is [the responsibility for] yourselves. Those who have erred will not harm you when you have been guided" (Quran 5:105) to be applied? What is the best way to avoid sharing personal matters with others? Is it permissible to not tell the truth and fabricate stories to repel the harm of deceivers? Is it permissible to supplicate with the prayer "My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower" with a different intention? What do you advise for lifting tribulations?

We ask Allah to accept your repentance, your devotion, all your deeds, and your contentment with divine decree. Repentance and righteous deeds are among the causes of mercy and success in this world and the hereafter. By maintaining acts of obedience and remembrance (dhikr), Allah protects His servant from calamities and removes what has afflicted him. Therefore, you must supplicate abundantly, acting upon the hadith: "Nothing averts divine decree except supplication (du'a)." If repentance meets its conditions, its acceptance is hoped for, because Allah has promised it. The greatest causes of Allah's anger are disbelief (kufr), fleeing from the battlefield, premeditated murder, and tyranny, all of which are lifted by sincere repentance. Regarding those who have wronged you, seek refuge in Allah, maintain acts of obedience and protective incantations, and do not accuse anyone without evidence. Deal with people with good character, and protect yourself from those you do not trust without resorting to lies. If you fear lying in answering embarrassing questions, use allusive language (ma'areedh) and circumlocution (tawriyah). Supplicating with the prayer of Solomon (peace be upon him) to be granted a kingdom that none after him shall attain is considered praying for the impossible and an transgression in supplication.
