How can the command, the Commander, and the belief in recompense be magnified to achieve remorse for repentance?

The repentance of a servant occurs when his heart perceives the greatness of the Lord, His constant observation of him, and His knowledge of his deeds. This leads him to feel ashamed before Him and to regret challenging Him with disobedience. He comes to magnify Allah's command in his eyes, believing that he has violated what he ought not to have violated. He then firmly believes in the recompense, knowing with certainty that if he does not repent, he is exposed to Allah’s punishment. This instills in him fear and apprehension, compelling him to correct his repentance and to feel profound remorse for his sin.
