Does the imam's avoidance and boycott of the questioner after the questioner corrected his Quranic recitation during prayer constitute an impugnment of scholars? If you correct an Imam's mistake in his prayer, he should thank you and supplicate for you, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said about a man who recited [the Quran] and reminded him of verses he had omitted: "May Allah have mercy on him; he reminded me of such and such verses that I had omitted from such and such a surah." This is not considered a disparagement of scholars; rather, it is sought after and rewarded. It is not permissible for the Imam to shun you for more than three nights, and it is better for you to initiate the greeting of peace, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "It is not lawful for a man to shun his brother for more than three nights; they meet, and this one turns away, and that one turns away. And the best of them is the one who initiates the greeting of peace."
