What was the reason for the revelation of Surat Al-Furqan?

Surah Al-Furqan is a Meccan surah, and there is no specific known reason for its overall revelation, as some parts of the Qur'an are revealed for a reason, and others are not.

However, Al-Wahidi mentioned that some of its verses were revealed for a reason. For example, Allah's saying: "And We did not send before you any messengers but that they ate food and walked in the markets" was revealed as a consolation to the Prophet, peace be upon him, when the polytheists taunted him about his poverty.

And the verses: "And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden, except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse" were revealed concerning some polytheists who had committed much killing and adultery, then came to Muhammad, peace be upon him, asking him about expiation for what they had done.
