Will the situation in the Ummah worsen until the lifting of the Qur'an and the banner and the spread of immorality before the appearance of the Mahdi, and is he who says "Lā ilāha illallāh" (there is no god but Allah) without bearing witness considered a Muslim, and will the wind that takes the souls of the believers come after the death of the Mahdi and Jesus (peace be upon them both) or after the gradual spread of corruption?

The hadith "No era will come upon you except that which follows it will be worse than it, until you meet your Lord" must be understood in light of other texts that indicate the persistence of good within the Ummah, such as the hadiths about the Victorious Group (Ta'ifa Mansura), the Mahdi, and the descent of Jesus. The hadith can be understood in several ways: that evil will be more prevalent, or that it refers to the preference for the totality of an era due to the presence of the Companions, or to the decrease of knowledge due to the departure of scholars. A Muslim must strive for reform, and he will have a great reward for doing so. A Caliphate upon the Prophetic methodology will be established before the Mahdi, or the Ummah will rise. Before the Hour is established, Allah will send a pleasant wind that will take the souls of the believers, and only the worst of people will remain. And when Islam fades away, those who know nothing of it except the word of monotheism will be saved from the Fire by it.
