Is it permissible to use eye drops made of herbs and a substance extracted from bear bile?

It is not permissible to seek treatment with unlawful (haram) substances, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, Allah did not make your healing in what He has forbidden for you." The questioner should, therefore, seek a permissible medicine. However, if an impure or intoxicating substance is incorporated into a medicine and completely consumed, leaving no trace, some jurists have permitted its use.
