To what extent is it true that angels seek forgiveness for the coffee drinker until its taste vanishes from his mouth, and does disliking drinking coffee mean jinn possession?

The beverage of coffee originated after the tenth century AH. Its ruling was debated upon its appearance, then consensus was reached on its permissibility. Al-Qasimi mentioned in his treatise "On Tea, Coffee, and Tobacco" that it is permissible. This was supported by Shihab Ibn Hajar in "Al-I'ab," stating that it is permissible as long as it is not associated with an accidental factor that necessitates prohibition.

Similarly, العلامة Al-Khalili, in his fatwas, indicated that it is permissible and lawful, like other lawful things, based on Allah's saying: "Say, 'I find not in what has been revealed to me anything forbidden to an eater who eats it'."

Coffee did not exist during the time of the Prophet, peace be upon him, and there is no text from him, the Companions, or the Tabi'in praising or condemning it. What is mentioned about angels seeking forgiveness for its drinker or that one who dislikes it is possessed is false talk with no basis. Coffee is a permissible drink that is neither praised nor condemned.
