Is the congregational prayer of women valid with the mosque if the school where they pray is connected to the mosque by a door leading to the mosque's courtyard, and some of the female worshipers can see the male worshipers in the courtyard through a window, knowing that the window may sometimes be closed? And does the distance between those praying in the courtyard and the female worshipers in the school, or the presence of empty spaces in the mosque and its rooms, affect the validity of their prayer?

We have previously explained in Fatwa no. 147760 that the validity of following the Imam in prayer is sufficient by seeing the Imam or those praying behind him, even if through a window or for a part of the prayer. So, if the women see the worshippers behind the Imam through the window, even if for only a part of the prayer, then the following is valid. However, if the window is closed throughout the prayer and they are unable to see them, then the following is not valid. We have not found statements from jurists regarding the distance being far or near; rather, they discussed the connection of the rows or the presence of obstacles. We advise women not to pray in this place to avoid disagreement, especially since they are not obligated to pray in the mosque in the first place.
