What is the ruling on a girl entering internet sites to search for a husband?
Private online conversations between a man and a woman who are not (marriageable relatives) are forbidden due to the corruption they cause, leading to falling into infatuation and forbidden acts. Satan beautifies each party to the other, causing the heart and mind to become attached in a corrupting way. These conversations are considered a search for illusions, as one does not know the truth about the other party, who might be a deceiver luring the girl into sin. Among their corrupting effects is the woman's habituation to addressing and adding men, which may lead to a loss of chastity. Conversation between a man and a woman is one of Satan's steps that opens a dark path of evil and corruption. One cannot discern a man's character and behavior through conversation, as human wolves feign seriousness. The assumption that deleting a non-serious party ends the matter is an illusion, for the heart is affected by beautiful words and may become attached to the other party. These conversations are a form of taking "friends" (as in secret lovers) and bear resemblance to forbidden seclusion (), serving as a gateway to infatuation and immorality.
