What is the meaning of the supplication: "O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and the standing prayer"?
Whoever says after the Adhan: "O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and the prayer to be offered, grant Muhammad the Wasilah and the Al-Fadilah, and raise him to the praised station which You promised him," intercession by the Prophet (peace be upon him) will be granted to him on the Day of Resurrection. The "perfect call" is the call to Tawhid (monotheism), and "the prayer to be offered" is the well-known prayer. "Al-Wasilah" is a station in Paradise, and "Al-Fadilah" is the elevated rank. "Al-Maqam Al-Mahmud" (the Praised Station) is that for which people will praise him on the Day of Resurrection, and Allah promised it to His Prophet in His saying: {It may be that your Lord will raise you to a station of praise} (Quran 17:79).
