What is the explanation of the noble Hadith: "O Allah, set right for me my religion, which is the safeguard of my affairs; and set right for me my worldly life, wherein is my living; and set right for me my Hereafter, to which is my return; and make life for me an increase in every good; and make death a relief for me from every evil"?

The hadith (definition) is a supplication (dua) that has been transmitted (ma'thur), containing a request for the good of both this world and the hereafter. It begins with the rectification of one's religion (din), then the rectification of one's worldly affairs (hal), and then the rectification of the hereafter. It also supplicates that life be a means for increasing good, and that death be a relief from evils. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, teaches us to pray for the good of both this world and the hereafter, as in the Almighty's saying: "Our Lord, grant us in this world good and in the Hereafter good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire" (Al-Baqarah: 201).
