What is the ruling on breaking the fast during the day in Ramadan due to a severe cold with the use of a nasal spray, continuous coughing, and a high fever?

It is permissible to break the fast in Ramadan and take medication if fasting causes illness, or increases it, or delays its recovery, or results in hardship that is difficult to bear. This is if you find clear hardship in fasting due to pain, or if you fear an increase in illness or a delay in its recovery. In such a case, you must break your fast and use the medication, and you must make up the days you missed due to illness. As for inhaling medication through the nose, whatever reaches the throat through the nose is considered among the things that break the fast according to the majority of jurists.
