Is it permissible to attend religious lessons without the parents' permission, given that the questioner is 25 years old and unmarried, and sometimes has to lie due to her mother's scrutiny and frequent questioning about her whereabouts?

Allah commanded women to remain in their homes, but He permitted them to go out for certain acts of worship, such as prayer in the mosque, attending Eid prayers, and gatherings of knowledge, as well as for essential needs, provided there is no suspicion. Attending gatherings of knowledge is one of the most important matters that helps in gaining understanding of the religion and achieving righteousness. If parents prevent their daughter from attending gatherings of knowledge, she must obey them if they are teaching her matters of her religion or if she can do without by using modern means. However, if the parents fall short in teaching her and insist on preventing her from religious lessons while allowing her to go out for other needs, then she may attend the lessons without their permission, while avoiding their anger through dissimulation (tawriya), and refraining from lying as much as possible.
