Is money earned from working as a receptionist in a tourist village that serves alcoholic beverages—which the employee does not directly handle but which generate substantial profit for the village—considered unlawful (haram) or lawful (halal) gain?

If your job involves participating in or assisting with forbidden acts, then the salary derived from it is unlawful. For instance, the salary of a receptionist in a hotel where alcoholic beverages are served is illicit, and it is not permissible to consume it, as spending from it and giving charity from it are unacceptable and bring ruin. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "O people, Allah is good and accepts only what is good…" Then he mentioned a man who undertakes a long journey, disheveled and dusty, extending his hands to the sky, saying, 'O Lord, O Lord!' while his food is unlawful, his drink is unlawful, his clothing is unlawful, and he is nourished with the unlawful, so how can his supplication be answered?" Bringing alcohol for profit does not justify its permissibility, and working in it is not allowed, because illicit gain ultimately leads to annulment and causes its owner misery in this world, along with punishment in the Hereafter.
