How can what is stated in the Qur’an be reconciled—that the creation of the Earth and the sustenance within it was completed in four days, and the creation of the heavens and what they contain of stars and the sun was completed in two days—with what science has proven: that the duration of the formation of the sky and stars is much longer than the duration of the formation of the Earth? And can the word "day" in the verses be interpreted as an unequal temporal stage?

It is wrong to judge religious texts based on our perceptions, especially concerning the unseen. Scholars, ancient and modern, have differed on the issue of the six days in which Allah created the heavens and the earth. "Those days in which the heavens and the earth were created are not these days, nor the time which is the measure of the movement of these celestial bodies. Rather, those days are measured by the movement of bodies that existed before the creation of the heavens and the earth."
