Was the Prophet (peace be upon him) able to read and write after his prophethood, and did he write the Qur’an with his own hand, based on the verse: "And you did not recite before it any book, nor did you inscribe it with your your right hand; for then the falsifiers would have doubted" (29:48), and that his miracle was in his reading and writing of the Qur’an after he was illiterate, and that his rejection of the compilation of the Qur’an before his death (peace be upon him) and his rejection of the Prophetic Sunnah except what agreed with the Qur’an, and his interpretation of "Iqra’" (Read) in the cave of Hira’ as meaning that the Preserved Tablet was before him for him to read from, by analogy with people reading their books on the Day of Judgment?

It is recommended to receive religious knowledge from people of knowledge and piety, and to beware of the ignorant. A believer should avoid listening to doubts, as hearts are weak. The imams of the Salaf would turn away from hearing doubts, for hearts are weak and doubts are captivating.

1. The Illiteracy of the Prophet (peace be upon him): The claim that the Prophet wrote the entire Quran with his own hand is a clear falsehood that no one has ever asserted. The implication of this statement is that the Quran is not preserved, because the Prophet did not write all of it. 2. The Compilation of the Great Quran: There is no evidence that the Quran was compiled into a single mushaf (definition) (codex) during the time of the Messenger; rather, it was written in separate parts. 3. The Story of the Revelation: A mursal narration, which is not authentic, has been reported about Gabriel bringing a book to the Prophet. However, the narration does not indicate that the Prophet read from it or that it was from the Preserved Tablet (Al-Lawh Al-Mahfuz). 4. Denial of Authentic Sunnah (definition): This is an ancient affliction whose appearance the Prophet foretold, and that those who would deny him are those who cling to the Quran without the Sunnah.
