Is it permissible to study Information Technology in a non-Muslim country, knowing that it involves matters such as helping companies deal with licenses and protecting people's information?

There is no harm in studying information technology in a non-Muslim country, but it is not permissible to work in this specialization if it aids in sin, such as protecting information for an interest-based bank or a gambling hall, or for entities that fight Islam, due to the Almighty's saying: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression." Among the clear forms of aiding in sin are spying on Muslim countries or inviolable individuals and violating their privacy, due to the Almighty's saying: "O you who have believed, avoid much [negative] assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy."
