Can I have musical instruments in Paradise?

Music is forbidden, and it should not be in Paradise, because sin and idle talk have no place there. Allah Almighty says: "They will not hear therein ill speech or sin." Paradise is a pure abode, and its inhabitants are pure; they desire nothing but what is pure. What is mentioned in some interpretations about hearing string instruments in Paradise is not substantiated. Paradise is an abode of happiness, and its inhabitants are content with what they have; they are not deprived of anything they wish for. The conditions of the Hereafter cannot be measured by the standards of this world.
