Is Abu Hurairah considered among the jurists and those who issue fatwas?

The great Companion Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, was among the jurists of the Companions and the imams of fatwa. This is indicated by several things, including: 1. His eagerness to hear and understand hadith, which is evident in his question about who would be the happiest person to receive the intercession of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. 2. His issuing a fatwa regarding game meat for those in a state of ihram, and 'Umar ibn al-Khattab's approval of it, which indicates his eligibility for fatwa and his juristic understanding.

Many scholars have explicitly affirmed Abu Hurairah's juristic understanding, may Allah be pleased with him, including Ibn al-Humam and Ibn Hajar, as Al-Mubarakfuri cited in "Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi" what supports this. Al-Dhahabi affirms that Abu Hurairah was "the memorizer, the jurist, the Companion of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family. He was among the vessels of knowledge and among the great imams of fatwa." Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned that Abu Hurairah was among the Companions of medium standing in fatwa. As for what was narrated from Ibrahim al-Nakha'i that Abu Hurairah was not a jurist, this was criticized, and Al-Dhahabi mentioned it in "Al-Mizan" among the criticisms leveled against Al-Nakha'i.
