If the grandfather distributes his property among his children as a gift (hiba), then justice must be observed by giving the male double the share of the female. If there was a preference that the daughters did not agree to, then the distribution must be rectified if the father was conscious (of his actions). If the grandfather dies without having rectified it, then the heirs must rectify the distribution, and it is not permissible for the one who was preferred to take the excess.
