The answer

It is not permissible for a man to use natural silk for clothing, sitting on, sleeping on, or covering oneself with, due to what was narrated by Al-Bukhari from Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: "The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade us from wearing silk and brocade, and from sitting on it." Even if there were no specific text for this, analogy would necessitate its prohibition, because the reason for the prohibition of wearing it is present in other uses. The majority of jurists have agreed on its prohibition for men, and this is the view of the Malikis, Shafi'is, and Hanbalis.
