The answer

There should be no doubt in divine success, for true success is guidance and obedience to Allah. This world and wealth are not measures of happiness; rather, happiness depends on faith and contentment with Allah's decree. One must strive for the pleasure of one's parents, as filial piety is among the most obligatory rights after the right of Allah Almighty, based on His saying: "And your Lord has decreed that you shall not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment…" and the hadith: "You and your wealth belong to your father." One must treat them kindly and avoid harming them, and give them money even if they are not in need of it, seeking the countenance of Allah. As for whispers (waswas), they are from Satan and can be dispelled by remembering Allah, reciting the Mu'awwidhat (Surahs Al-Falaq and An-Nas) and Ayatul Kursi, the morning and evening remembrances and those before sleep, and by increasing acts of obedience and staying away from sins.
