What is the ruling on a father supplicating against his children with evil and lack of success, and will his supplication be answered?

A father's curse upon his children is an abominable and forbidden act, as narrated by Muslim from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Do not supplicate against yourselves, and do not supplicate against your children, and do not supplicate against your wealth. Do not coincide with a moment from Allah in which He is asked for a grant, and He responds to you." And upon the children is to be good to their father and honor him, no matter how badly he behaves. Patience, supplication, and remembrance are means of calming the soul. And beware of abandoning prayer, which some scholars consider disbelief. It is advised to strive to reform the father by supplicating for him and enlisting the help of righteous people. And supplicate for yourself and for your sister, while exerting effort and seeking Allah's help, for the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Be keen on what benefits you, and seek help from Allah and do not be helpless."
