Is there a sound text that specifies the time span between Adam and Muhammad?

There is no precise determination of the time duration between Adam and Muhammad, peace be upon them, but it can be estimated approximately based on some hadiths and narrations. It is authentically reported that there were ten centuries between Adam and Noah, and ten centuries between Noah and Abraham. As for the period between Jesus and Muhammad, it is narrated to be six hundred years. Based on some opinions, the time between Adam and Muhammad can be estimated in thousands of years, taking into consideration that a century may mean one hundred years.
