How is it possible to reconcile with a brother and sister who refuse to communicate and boycott their brother despite his continuous attempts to reunite the family and show them filial piety?
If you maintain ties with your relatives while they sever ties with you, then you are not the one severing them; rather, they are the wrongdoers. Your maintaining ties with them despite their turning away carries great goodness and reward. In Sahih Muslim, it is stated: "If you are as you say, then it is as if you are feeding them hot ashes, and there will always be a supporter from Allah with you against them as long as you remain upon that." Continue to maintain ties with them and strive to win their affection, for repelling evil with good brings about love and protects against the evil of Satan, as Allah Almighty says: "And not equal are the good deed and the bad. Repel [evil] with that which is better, and thereupon the one whom between you and him is enmity [will become] as though he was a devoted friend."
