Can God Almighty hate a person?

Severe affliction does not indicate Allah's dislike; rather, it may be a sign of His love, because the most severely afflicted people are the prophets, then those who are most like them, and so on. Whoever endures affliction with patience, submits to Allah's decree, and knows that Allah has wisdom in it, will attain tranquility and a great reward. Do not think that Allah dislikes you because of the affliction. Instead, strive in obedience to Allah and draw closer to Him, for true happiness lies in nearness to Him. Allah dislikes His enemies and those who disobey His command, and we hope that you are not among them; rather, your affliction may be a means of elevating your ranks. Be optimistic, following the example of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and dispel delusions by reflecting on the immense blessings of Allah that overwhelm you, for what Allah has given you is far greater than what He has taken from you. This will transform your feeling from complaining to contentment.
