Is it permissible for a Muslim man to marry a non-Muslim woman from Asia if she desires to convert to Islam?

True life, happiness, and tranquility are only attained through belief in Allah, Islam as a religion, and Muhammad as a prophet.

A woman enters Islam by saying: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is His servant and His messenger." She must take the initiative to do so.

If the woman is from the People of the Book (Jewish or Christian) and chaste, there is no religious impediment to marrying her, and the Muslim husband must be keen on her embracing Islam. However, if she is not from the People of the Book, it is not permissible to marry her, as Allah Almighty says: ﴿And do not marry polytheistic women until they believe.﴾ [Al-Baqarah/221].

Despite the permissibility of marrying a woman from the People of the Book, the Shari'ah encourages marrying a Muslim woman of faith, because complete marital life is achieved with a religious wife.
