What is the way to make my 48-year-old sister, who is characterized by good deeds, fasting, and charity, establish prayer, knowing that she has never prayed a single rak'ah for Allah Almighty in her entire life, and our supplications for her guidance have been of no avail?

We ask Allah for guidance for this woman. The way to achieve that is: to strive in supplicating for her guidance, and to advise her by clarifying the grave sin of intentionally abandoning prayer, and that it is one of the greatest sins and major transgressions. Indeed, many scholars have considered it an act of disbelief that expels one from the faith.

Explain to her that her abandonment of prayer makes her affiliation with Islam a matter of scholarly disagreement. Some scholars consider her among the most corrupt of transgressors, while others view her as an apostate outside the faith.

Be keen to make her hear admonitions that remind her of the Hereafter, accountability, recompense, Paradise, Hellfire, and the grave, and the effect of prayer in salvation from those perils.
