Do the paternal cousins inherit from the estate of a man who died leaving no sons or brothers, and what is their share?

The deceased's wife receives one-fourth as a prescribed share due to the absence of a lineal descendant, based on the Almighty's saying: "And for them is one fourth of what you leave if you have no child." Whatever remains after the wife's prescribed share goes to the paternal cousin, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Give the prescribed shares to those entitled to them; then whatever remains is for the closest male relative." In matters of inheritance, it is best to refer to the Sharia courts.
