The deceased's wife receives one-fourth as a prescribed share due to the absence of a lineal descendant, based on the Almighty's saying: "And for them is one fourth of what you leave if you have no child." Whatever remains after the wife's prescribed share goes to the paternal cousin, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Give the prescribed shares to those entitled to them; then whatever remains is for the closest male relative." In matters of inheritance, it is best to refer to the courts.
