Where is the grave of Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, located?

Ibn Kathir, in his book "Al-Bidayah wa An-Nihayah," favored the opinion that Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, was buried at the seat of the Emirate in Kufa, out of fear that the Khawarij would exhume his body. He indicated that the notion of his body being carried on his mount and it taking him to an unknown place is an error and an affectation that neither reason nor Islamic law would countenance.
