What is the cure for sorcery (sihr), sarf (a type of black magic that turns a person away from something), or atf (a type of black magic that makes a person inclined towards something), and how can a believer be saved from their harm? Are there any supplications or remembrances for this from the Qur’an and the Sunnah?

The treatment for magic (sihr) is through four methods: The first is to remove what the sorcerer has done and destroy it if its location is known. The second is to compel the sorcerer to remove his magic, after which he is to be executed by the ruler. The third is through ruqyah shari'ah (Islamic incantation) by reciting verses of magic and some Quranic surahs, as well as supplications confirmed from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, over the bewitched person or into a vessel of water from which he drinks and bathes. The fourth is to use seven green Sidr leaves, which are to be crushed and placed in water, then the aforementioned verses, surahs, and supplications are recited into it, and the bewitched person then drinks from it and bathes. This also benefits one who has been prevented from his wife.
