What is the ruling on vowing not to dance for women? And what is the expiation for it?

The ruling on dancing has been previously explained. A vow to abstain from it is not binding. If dancing is forbidden, then abstaining from it is an original obligation. If it is permissible, then it is not binding because it is not an act of worship. Some scholars are of the opinion that with a vow to do something permissible, the person has the choice between fulfilling it or atoning for it with an expiation similar to that for breaking an oath.
