How can my mother deal with her sharp-tongued sister who causes her psychological harm and leads to the deterioration of her health, while maintaining kinship ties and not displeasing Allah?

Islam recommends maintaining good relations and harmony among Muslims, and calls for efforts to reconcile the mother and the maternal aunt with wisdom and deliberation, seeking assistance through prayer and from righteous people to remind them of the virtue of maintaining kinship ties and the danger of severing them. It is also advised to alert the aunt to the seriousness of harming kin, and for the mother to bear her sister's harm with patience and to respond to mistreatment with kindness. In the event that reconciliation is not achieved, the mother is reassured that the sin is upon the sister who severs ties, while the children are obligated to maintain ties with their maternal aunt in all circumstances.
