Is it permissible for someone who vowed to repent if she succeeded in her studies to be released from her vow, knowing that she did not intend it as an act of piety and is facing difficulty fulfilling it? And is it permissible for her to fast three days secretly as expiation for this vow?

Watching TV series and listening to songs and music are prohibited by the general consensus of contemporary scholars, and this prohibition is not exclusive to Ibn 'Uthaymin alone. Repentance from sins is obligatory immediately, by the agreement of jurists, and delaying it is considered an additional sin. If one knows that repentance is obligatory, then vowing to do it is not binding because it is an undertaking of something already obligatory. Therefore, the Muslim woman must repent to Allah from listening to songs and watching TV series, and also repent for delaying her repentance.
