Does the cursing of entire tribes contradict the fact that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was a mercy to the worlds and of a great moral character, especially considering that he used to curse them in his prayers?

Allah Almighty bore witness to the Prophet Muhammad’s great character, which encompasses mercy, forbearance, truthfulness, trustworthiness, wisdom, and courage. His cursing of certain tribes and his prayers against them do not contradict his great character, because both mercy and strictness have their proper places, and using something in its proper place is perfection. This is true for those tribes that betrayed the believers and killed seventy reciters among them. The Prophet (peace be upon him) did not frequently curse; rather, he stopped doing so after the revelation of Allah’s statement: "Not for you, [O Muhammad], is the decision whether He turns in forgiveness to them or punishes them; indeed, they are wrongdoers." Such cursing has been mentioned in the Holy Quran on the tongues of prophets like Noah, Moses, David, and Jesus (peace be upon them all). Indeed, the Bible is full of curses. Cursing those who deserve to be cursed does not contradict a great character; rather, it is a sign of courage, wisdom, and putting things in their rightful perspective.
