Is what happens in acting, such as marriage or divorce, considered real?
Representing marriage and divorce is not considered a reality because it lacks the necessary legal conditions for their validity. Marriage requires a legitimate offer and acceptance, the absence of impediments for both spouses, a guardian who meets the conditions, and two just witnesses. As for divorce, it is stipulated that it must be pronounced upon a real wife. However, if the legal conditions are met and the actor intends marriage or pronounces divorce upon his real wife, then both are considered valid, based on the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) saying: "There are three things which, whether undertaken seriously or in jest, are considered serious: marriage, divorce, and revocation [of divorce during the iddah period]."
