What is the religious ruling regarding psychotherapy for someone who suspects they are afflicted by jinn possession (mass) or sorcery (sihr) rather than a mental illness, and wishes to know what they should do, especially since their father does not acknowledge these matters?

The questioner is advised to consult a psychiatrist for treatment, as there is no harm in it, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Seek treatment, O servants of Allah, for Allah Almighty has not created a disease without creating a cure for it, except for one disease: old age." And if he believes he is afflicted by magic or jinn possession, he should seek treatment from someone who treats with the Quran and authentic supplications, while being cautious of magicians and charlatans, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever goes to a soothsayer or a diviner and believes what he says, has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad." Magic is confirmed by the Quran and Sunnah, as Allah Almighty said: "They teach people magic" and "They enchanted the eyes of the people and terrorized them, and they came with a great magic." And it is confirmed that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was afflicted by magic, so there is no room to deny the existence of magic.
