From which land will people be resurrected after the demise and perishing of the Earth we are on following the first Trumpet blast?
On the Day of Resurrection, people will be resurrected with their souls and bodies from the very earth on which they lived, as Allah the Almighty said: (From it We created you, and into it We will return you, and from it We will extract you another time) Taha/55. The Muslim nation has unanimously agreed that the bodies which obeyed or disobeyed are those that will be resurrected, and that Allah will recreate creation as He originated them.
After the resurrection, the earth and the heavens will be replaced. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about the location of the people at that time, and he replied: "On the Sirat (bridge)." It is possible that the replacement involves changing the characteristics of the earth to become flat and white with no landmarks, as stated in the hadith: "People will be gathered on the Day of Resurrection on a white, reddish-white earth, like a pure loaf." It is also possible that the replacement involves the very essence of the earth, and another earth will come, as indicated by the hadith of Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri that the earth will be "one loaf."
Therefore, people will be resurrected with their souls and bodies from the earth of this world, and then the earth and the heavens will be replaced at the Sirat, and the most probable view is that the replacement includes the essence of the earth itself.
